Good Curl vs. Bad Curl
One of the fears some of my brides and clients face when choosing a wave or curl for their hair style is the longevity of the curl/wave, because there hair is “too straight.”
What I have learn with experience is that preparation of the
hair prior to styling is key to the final result and life spend of the style.
- One of the things you should take into
consideration is cleanliness (oiliness) of your hair: If your hair is too oily the
curl will not hold as well.
If you have oily hair I recommend washing
it the day of. It’s best to wash your hair a few of hours before your hair
appointment.
If it’s not oily, then you can wash
your hair the day before. This will allow the moisture in your hair to balance.
- Adding product to your hair after washing it and
before it’s completely dry, like a lite Mousse, gel, volumezing spray or setting spray will prepare your hair to hold the curl and style. Work the product through your hair with a comb and dry.Make sure you place your part before it dries completely since it can be hard to “replace” your part once it dries.

The Following is the foundation that the hair will be donated to and Their Guidelines!!
Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children who are suffering from a long-term medical hair loss. Guidelines:
Hair should be at least 10 inches in length. (Layered hair is okay if the longest layer is 10 inches, and curly hair may be pulled straight to measure 10 inches.)
Clean and dry your hair before cutting.
Braid your hair or put it in a ponytail before it is cut.
Place the ponytail or braid in a sealed plastic bag with rubber bands at both ends.
Place the plastic bag with your hair donation in a padded envelope.
Complete the hair donation form and include it in the padded envelope.
Colored or permed hair is accepted but not bleached hair. (This includes highlighted hair because it often has been bleached.)
Hair swept off the floor is unusable.
